Dental Implantation Process

Dental Implantation Process

Dental implant is the best way to restore a lost tooth!

The implant performs the function of the root of the tooth, which is a strong support for artificial structures (crowns, bridges or dentures).

Implantation consists of several stages:

  1. Consultation - at this stage, the state of the jaw bone is evaluated by means of 3D computer tomography.
  2. Treatment planning - the plan reflects the number of implants, its size, planning of additional procedures if necessary: tooth extraction, bone addition (augmentation), bone plastic in the sinus of the sinus (sinus lifting) If the bone does not require additional treatment, the next stage is implantation
  3. The implant is surgically inserted into the jawbone. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is painless. The doctor-implantologist explains to the patient how to take care of the wound at home and gives the appropriate prescription.

After the implant is placed, a process called osseointegration begins. At this stage, the implant fuses with the jawbone and creates a strong and stable support for the artificial tooth.

In a few months (4-6) after implantation, an artificial construction, a crown, a bridge or a removable prosthesis is attached to it, which fully restores the aesthetic and chewing function.

In the presence of implants and artificial crowns, it is important to take into account the rules of care. It is necessary to brush your own teeth and artificial structures twice a day and use a dental irrigator. Professional teeth cleaning with a periodontist is also necessary once every 6 months.
